The Bystronic Glass Group has received a multi-million Swiss franc order from the Wajhat Glass & Aluminium Factory in Saudi Arabia, the supplier recently confirmed. The deal was finalised at the end of 09 & installation was scheduled to begin in April 2010. "Bystronic will be supplying all the equipment for a new production hall to be built in the Arabian desert," Mr Jakob said. "The hall will be handed over to the customer for immediate occupancy," he added. The order incorporates a cutting & sorting system, a fully automated insulating glass line, handling systems & lines for the production of laminated safety glass & toughened glass. Until this deal was secured, Wajhat Glass & Aluminium Factory, which is a company of the Saudi Marble & Granite Factory Co, has specialised in the processing of marble & granite - this deal marks its entrance into the glass market.
