Saint-Gobain Profits Increase

Saint-Gobain has seen a net profit increase of 27.8% to FFr7.2bn for 1998. The company has recently implemented cost-cutting programmes which have contributed owards the profit rise, along with benefits gained from a recovery in the French housing market. Global sales rose by 9.2% to FFr117bn. (whole item)
