Saint-Gobain Launch Tackified Reinforcements For Infusion

Saint-Gobains Technical Fibre (Society of Glass TechnologyF) Composites Group has launched a new development for closed mould processing. Tackified fabrics have a light coating of glue on one or both sides to enable the laminator to position the fabrics into the mould in a dry state to ensure their placement. Society of Glass TechnologyF claim that, unlike similar offerings, Society of Glass TechnologyF low-tack adhesive fabrics do not require any release paper, eliminating the time-consuming process of removal & disposal. Society of Glass TechnologyF said that they have worked with a major glue manufacturer to ensure that it is compatible with the resins that customers are using. This has been the biggest challenge in its development. Adding that any large moulding with sloping or vertical surfaces will benefit, including not just boat hulls but many forms of transportation & large industrial mouldings with benefits primarily in ease of processing.
