Saint-Gobain Desjonqueres: Deadline For Sell-Off Inquiry

The European Commission said the deadline for its inquiry into the proposed acquisition of Saint-Gobain's speciality bottle division Desjonqueres by investment funds Sagard and Cognetas has been set for 29 March 2007. The deal is estimated at EUR 690 million. Desjonqueres makes bottles for the perfume and pharmaceutical industries. The deal will be examined under the EU's simplified merger review procedure for cases the commission believes do not pose competition concerns.
