Saint-Gobain UK announced that from the end of Dec/09, it will have a new MD, Pierre Lucien-Brun of Saint-Gobain Glass Solutions, where he has held various management posts over the past 20y, while the outgoing head of the company, Alan McLenaghan, will go to Saint-Gobain's Container Glass division. A second appointment will also take place when Derek Dragten, marketing manager, will become sales & marketing director from 1 Jan/2010, when Norman Barker, the company's sales manager, prepares for retirement June 2010. Alan McLenaghan said: "I have immense pride in having played my part in the creation of SGGUK & specifically the 3 manufacturing plants at Eggborough. It has been marvellous to have been a part of taking SGGUK from concept to the huge success it has become today. Eggborough is one of SGG's most successful plants by any measure & I am sure it will remain so. I have had a great team around me and I know that they will ensure that the success continues with Pierre, whom the team looks forward to welcoming to Yorkshire.
