The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has approved a standard governing the safe installation of auto replacement glass. The voluntary standard, called the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS), was approved on Feb 3, 2000. It details procedures necessary for safe auto glass replacements. Approval of the standard marks the culmination of a two year industry effort founded by Carl Jolliff of Jolliff Glass Co, Peoria, IL. Jolliff sought to bring the glass industry together with major car manufacturers to develop a standard to be used for auto glass replacements in the US.
