Italcarrelli, a leading company in the design and construction of machinery for the transport of flat glass, has recently developed a new loader, the EN BOX 25T side loader for the transport of unpacked glass sheets. The EN BOX 25T is part of the EN BOX 25 product range for the loading/unloading of glass packed in closed top containers, and is basically identical to the EN BOX 25 with the difference of being equipped with a device to pick up unpacked glass. This variant has been designed because of the continuous request of use for unpacked glass, which is more affordable than transporting packed glass. In fact, in many countries, glass is transported from the glassmaker to the client with trucks that cannot be loaded from above or from the side, but openly from the back, as for closed top containers. Companies using this kind of transport are obliged to load the glass on these trucks with whatever equipment they have on-site, which requires long operation times (loading the glass often takes place one sheet at a time) and at considerable risks for operators.
