The new Omsk glass plant of Russteklo has been finalised & production should begin in May. The design capacity of the plant will reach 700M items/pa. A workshop took place at the factory 22 April & visitors confirmed that the new industrial facility was nearly complete. The local Government of the Omsk region successfully resolved engineering problems. The company is currently completing the installation of equipment for power plants & transportation of finished products, as well as the construction of a factory warehouse. The investment of nearly 5BN roubles should be paid back within 5-7 years. Russteklo is the only factory producing glass behind the Urals & has the most modern equipment in Russia. Glass containers will be in demand in the regions of Siberia & the Far East, replacing cans & bottles from the Moscow region, bearing additional costs of transportation.
