The Nefteotdacha Research & Technological Center plans to build a glass container production plant & an ore-dressing mill at the Pisarevsky quartz sand deposit in the Ardatovsky district. The plans were approved on 5/12/07 by the investment council of the regional governor. One of the founders of the center, Aleksandr Sitnikov, said that the project will be completed by 2011 with an investment of around RUR 4.7BN. The Pisarevskoy quartz sand reserves are estimated at 45M/t. The company plans to mine 1M/t sand/pa, of which 240,000/t will go to its own plant, which will have a production capacity of 1.2BN bottles/pa. Technical director Vadim Shadrunov said the Pisarevsky sands can be used to make containers for the food/pharmaceutical industry. Aleksandra Sitnikov said NTTS Nefteotdacha plans to supply sand to AGC BSZ (Bor glass works) & others.
