The municipality of Leningrad has revealed a strong desire to construct a float glass plant in the vicinity, and is now requesting offers of potential collaboration and investment. The design capacity would be in the order of 5.6-6m sq/metres of float glass per year, with raw materials which are intended to be sourced from the Rostov and Krasnodar regions, and Samara, based around 80km from the construction site. Additional deposits are also available in nearby areas. The site earmarked by the municipality would be located on a plot of 9.0258 hectares in the industrial zone of Leningrad, 1km from the regional hub of Starominskaya (700m from the Uman train line) It is expected that the project will cost will be around US$ 2000M and would take up to 2 years to complete.
