NWML (National Weights & Measures Laboratory) is responsible for the enforcement of The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical & Electronic Equipment Regulations 2008. This legislation restricts the use of mercury, lead, hexavalent chromium, cadmium and a range of flame retardants in electronic and electrical equipment. In view of its enforcement responsibility for RoHS, NWML has produced a new leaflet which provides essential information to UK producers about RoHS, discusses the requirements of the legislation, together with useful sources of information.
