Rockware's new £7.5M cullet plant officially opened at Wheatley on 27th May/05. The Rt Hon John Gummer MP, Chairman of Valpak UK & former Secretary of State for the Environment officially opened Rockware Glass's new glass recycling plant. The state of the art plant, adjacent to Rockware's largest glass manufacturing plant, has a capacity to provide 225,000 tonnes of high quality cullet, doubling the amount Rockware is currently able to use. Owned & operated by Berryman Glass, it is the world's most advanced glass recycling facility, & the only one of its type in the UK capable of processing both container glass & plate glass. Processing predominantly flint (clear glass) cullet, the new plant will fill a much-needed gap in the market in line with demand. 32 new jobs have been created on the site.
