Rockware Glass is continuing with its capital investment programme at its Doncaster glass works by spending a further £1.7M on an advanced 10-section double-gob machine. this follows a £10.2M spend on a furnace rebuild and related equipment upgrade and a £4.5M enhancement of its cold end, which included line and palletisers improvements and an automated shuttle car last year. The increased capacity of the new machine provides will improve planning flexibility as well as utilising spare capacity available from the W2 furnace. It enables Rockware to respond to the requirements of its food customers and also supports the growth of business with Coca-Cola who has moved to recyclable containers for the on-trade.
