Rockware Goes Dutch

A new design of 30cl glass bottle for the Dutch premium beer Grolsch is being supplied, pre-labelled, by Rockware. The new design is being launched in pubs and bars in the Netherlands. Labels are printed on reflective metallic polypropylene using a GMC press built by Spear. They use five colours using screen inks with UV spot varnish added in selected areas of the front and back bottle labels. The varnish glows under UV light. Because Rockware pre-applies the labels, the package and label has to withstand pasteurisation and filling. Spear conducted trials, simulations and audits to ensure the integrity of the product.
