One of the most critical aspects regarding the manufacture of hollow glass items used for foodstuffs is the presence of foreign bodies and residual material from washing operations. This article presents a protective system or glass containers - the Ribicap - where the risk of contamination has been eliminated thanks to a protective film. Ribipack has created a new quality concept for the procurement of hollow glass by filling companies: Internal Functional Quality (IFQ). IFQ offers the possibility of guaranteeing, by filling unit, that the hollow glass container, when used on the filling lines, be exactly in the desired condition required by the filler. This is guaranteed, regardless of the time of production, length and type of logistic cycle.
