Rexam Plc Renamed Redfearn Glass Ltd

Ardagh Glass (the parent of Rockware Glass) have recently announced that it has acquired Rexam Glass Barnsley Limited, the UK glass business of Rexam plc. The business is being renamed Redfearn Glass Limited, reflecting its earlier heritage. The business was acquired for £50 million, including assumption of debt, and had EBITDA of £14 million and operating profit of £3 million in 2004. Rockware is confident that the combination of the Rockware and Barnsley businesses will lead to further quality improvements and efficiency gains, thereby creating a stronger business better able to compete in an already competitive UK market which has recently seen the introduction of significant new production capacity.
