Rexam: Changes To Leadership

Global consumer packaging company Rexam announced 20 December 2004 that David Anderson, Sector Director Glass, who retires at the end of April 2005, will be succeeded by Egbert Thüsing, currently Managing Director Rexam Glass Germany, who will also replace Mr. Anderson on the Group Management Committee on that date. Egbert joined Rexam in January 2003 to run the enlarged German glass operations following the acquisition of Nienburger & Lüner Glass. Prior to that he was with Impress Metal Packaging BV in Amsterdam, where he was a Member of the Corporate Executive Committee. From 1986 to 1997, he worked for PLM (acquired by Rexam in 1999), first as Commercial Director and then as Managing Director of the Berlin beverage can operation. In conjunction with the change in leadership, the headquarters of the Glass Sector will move from Barnsley, in northern England, to mainland Europe. The final decision regarding the location will be made in early January 2005.
