Review Of Current Rfid Use

There are now two types of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology in operation: online label production and off-line label insertion. Online attachment slows down the production process so AB Graphic International now uses off-line converting platforms for various specific tasks from wet inlay RFID integration to finished label rolls with verification. Smaller label printers targeting niche markets have now joined the traditional large outfits allied to supermarkets in production of RFID tags. The Omega Ti150, which can integrate RFID and electronic article surveillance (EAS) tabs, is ideally suited to such companies. Other converters are seeking larger, more sophisticated systems such as the Omega 410mm RFID/EAS. This can integrate any type of electronic inlay between the label substrate and a backing paper on a pre-printed self-adhesive roll.
