The EU Industrial Minerals Association (IMA) has developed a new website dedicated to Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) for the purpose of providing useful information on the numerous industry initiatives regarding RCS workplace exposure prevention and RCS Substance Classification. Regarding the prevention of workers exposure to RCS, the website highlights the EU Social Dialogue on Workers' Health Protection through the Good Handling and Use of Crystalline Silica and Products Containing it, and its Good Practice Guide. The website especially gives information on IMA's decision on the classification and labelling or RCS taken in accordance with the new Classification, Labelling & Packaging Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation).
