"Rescued" Glass Workers Sacked

Over 160 S Yorkshire workers have been sacked & their factory closed, just a week after the company was "rescued." Harworth-based SLI Glass was put under the control of administrators from accountancy firm Deloitte in January by its US-based owners SLI Group, after the Doncaster business was hit by high energy costs & reduced sales. Deloitte continued to run the firm, while looking for a buyer willing to take it on as a going concern.
