From 10-13 September, the global refractories industry gathered together on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, for the 13th Biennial Worldwide Refractories Congress, recognised as the Unified International Technical Conference on Refractories. This year's event drew over 630 refractory manufacturers, users, technologists, and scientists from around the world. This article looks at the keynote speeches and plenary sessions which examined what kind of steps need to be taken to make refractories "fit for the future."
