Compared with the traditional technology, the modern technology for glass production has undergone a qualitative change towards higher efficiency, lower energy consumption and better quality. As the core requirement for glass production, the furnace is witnessing some improvements in terms of broad use of new technologies, such as upgrading the intensity of combustion, improving heat transmission, reducing heat loss and decreasing pollution to products and the environment. In this article the author discusses the trends affecting glass refractory usage across China.
