The UK's first glass recycling education centre will open shortly, alongside the Knottingley plant of Rockware Glass. The centre will aim to improve school pupils' understanding of the benefits of glass recycling and teachers who have already visited the site have described it as a powerful learning tool for 7-11 year olds. A wide range of interactive facilities and classroom learning material is planned and visitors will be able to see Rockware Glass' cullet treatment plant, which opened in June this year, from a special viewing platform. They will also be able to tour the Rockware factory. Andy Hartly, Rockware's marketing manager said, "We believe that the 7-11 year olds will grasp the importance of recycling very quickly when they visit the centre and spread the message to friends and parents."
