Recycling Clear Glass From Coloured Bottles

Asahi Breweries' container manufacturing subsidiary has developed, and is planning to commercialise, coloured glass bottles that can be recycled into clear glass. The glass is coated with organic dyes which evanesce when the bottles are melted down at 1400-1500 deg C, producing clear glass. The subsidary plans to install a 250 bottle/min line which offers the same production costs and speeds as for conventional bottles. (whole item)
