Record Year For Glass Packaging Company

Swiss-based Vetropack Group has hailed 2007 as a record-breaking achievement following "outstanding" revenue and income growth for the 2007 fiscal year. Consolidated gross revenues reached US $699M, an increase of 17.6% over the previous year, and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) almost doubled to $131.5M. Consolidated annual profit increased by over 133% to $100.7M. Vetropack increased its unit sales to 4.26BN on the back of steadily increasing demand for glass packaging throughout Europe over the last 2 years. However, the company found it impossible to fully meet demand, so focused on strengthening its domestic market positions, where two-thirds of its sales were from.
