Record Output At Uk Plant

The Brunner Mond soda ash plant at Northwich East (Lostock) in north-west England broke its all-time annual production record in 2004 for the second consecutive year, with output of nearly 410,000 tonnes of soda ash. The achievement follows a four-year investment programme which has seen a kiln rebuild programme, major electrical infrastructure and drive replacements and a new plant control system. At the Brunner Mond-owned Magadi Soda plant in Kenya, work has begun on the construction of a new 365,000 tonne/year soda ash plant which is due to be commissioned in 2H 2005.
