[Raw Materials] German Solar Company Begins Lithium Exploration

Vertically-integrated photovoltaics manufacturer SolarWorld has begun lithium exploration at a previously mined deposit in Saxon Zinnwald, Germany. The company aims to expand its value chain by selling the lithium for use in battery storage systems. The company is now preparing a pre-feasibility study in partnership with the University of Freiberg in order to take the project to the manufacturing stage, as explained in this article.
