Ravenhead Glass May Re-Open

The St. Helens glass tableware manufacturer, Ravenhead Glass, which ceased operation in March this year, has become the object of an un-named businessman who has started talks with the administrators, corporate rescue and recovery firm, Begbies Traynor. A spokesman for the administrators said that the man has received a draft agreement and is now sounding out the possibility of Government funding to help re-open the plant. The plant was a major producer of beer glasses and its only competitor in the UK folded shortly after Ravenhead ceased production. (whole item)
