The Quinn Group is set to invest 150M Euros in a plastics factory in the former eastern Germany, according to a recent report. The group is considering a number of locations, but the clear front runner is the German city of Leipzig, the Sunday Times reported. The investment represents a major move for Quinn's plastic division, which is mainly made up of a business he bought from the Barlo group. The German facility will manufacture methyl methacrylate, a raw material used in much of the group's product range. It will allow Quinn to take closer control of costs in his plastics business. The plastics end of the group is how headquarterd at Geel in belgium and has factories in Germany, Spain, France, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Quinn recently said he was spending 200M Euros at Newport in S Wales on the world's largest radiator plant.
