A proposition 65 notice was filed in California in May alleging exposure to lead from "Coca-Cola soda drink (Mexican Coke), Coca-Cola stored in glass bottles, and glass bottles." A retailer was named along with the soda marketer. As previously reported, about 90 Proposition 65 notices have been filed since the August 31, 2004 settlement between a group of manufacturers, importers, retailers and the plaintiff concerning allegations of lead exposure and decorated glass and ceramicware. Some of these defendants have agreed to tentative settlements with the plaintiff that differ significantly from earlier settlements. These have not yet been approved by the court. The majority of the Proposition 65 allegations filed since August 31, 2004 remain to be either settled or litigated. (whole item)
