Profits Rise Despite Poor Turnover

Oberland Glas AG recorded an increase of 19% in net profits to DM17.0m for the first half of 1996, compared with DM14.3m in the previous period. Turnover in the first six months of 1996 fell to DM408.4m from DM415.4m. The decline was attributed to lower private consumption and a redcution in sales to the catering and drinks industries.
