Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations

The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007 Statutory Instrument 2007 No. 871 was made on 15 March 2007. Earlier 2005 Regulations consolidated the 1997 Regulations and amending Statutory Instruments from 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2005. In the course of that consolidation exercise, some errors arose in the Regulations and the 2007 regulations have been introduced to correct these. The changes do not involve any policy change. There are, however, some technical changes to take account of recommendations from the regulators to clarify the Regulations. Furthermore, the Regulations also provide that packaging data and information about recovery and recycling targets can be provided electronically.
