Probe After Blaze Rips Through Roof Of Factory At Rockware

Investigations are under way after fire broke out at Rockware's factory in Doncaster, forcing workers to be evacuated. Fire fighters from 6 stations were called out to the roof blaze. The firm's own fire team had already started tackling the blaze, which began in a production machine at the site on Barnby Dun Rd, Clay Lane. Sharon Crayton, the company's marketing manager said: "There are still a lot of investigations taking place, but many of our early investigations have proved inconclusive. We use so much compressed air, and it is that which has effectively forced the flames up into the roof." Three of the ten machines that produce the glass, including the one at the centre of the incident, were turned off during the blaze, which saw one member of staff treated for minor smoke inhalation. Fire fighters praised the efforts or Rockware's trained fire staff.
