Completed by a taskforce of the British Glass Health and Safety Steering Group, new guidance has been produced which aims to introduce the concept of near misses, provide assistance to organisations looking to implement a reporting system into their workplaces, with clear definitions to clarify understanding of different types of incident and raise awareness of the benefits and value of appropriate reporting systems. "The guidance will help members to go above and beyond what is required by law to stop accidents before they happen" said Jenni Richards, Health and Safety Manager at British Glass. "It also contributes to the continuous improvement of health and safety performance across all other organisations." To read the guidance in full, it can be downloaded from the British Glass website: www.britglass.org.uk/pulbications/incident-and-near-miss-reporting-guid…
