Practical Aspects Of The Visco-Elastic Behaviour Of Glass

On 29 & 30th May, a technical seminar was presented by American Glass Research to members of ATIV at the University of Parma, Italy. The two day seminar was entitled "Glass Container Technology" and consisted of lectures, demonstrations and related discussions. One of the main topics discussed was the visco-elastic behaviour of glass and how that related to historic observations of glass objects and the implications of this behaviour to glass container formation. A summary of these discussions is presented in this paper.
