Ppg Restarts Furnace

To help meet growing demand in the specialty materials segment, PPG Industries INC, has restarted a fibreglass furnace at its Lexington, NC plant. Fibreglass yarns are used in applications such as medical casts, tape, high-temperature insulators, insect screening and building-related products. Recently, the fibreglass business received the Look of a Leader Award for 2003 from Bayer Corp., in recognition of its superior performance as a supplier to Bayer's plastics manufacturing last year.
