Ppg To Expand Joint-Venture Fibreglass Plant In China

PPG Industries Inc and its joint venture partner will build a second fibreglass manufacturing furnace at their Kunshan, China, facility. The additional furnace adds 38,000 metric tons of annual capacity. Startup is scheduled for the first quarter of 2006. The plant opened in September 2003 with one 30,000-metric/tpa furnace. PFG Fibre Glass (Kunshan) Co Ltd is a 50-50 joint venture of PPG and Nan Ya Plastics Corp of Taiwan.
