Portable Ir Thermometer

Eurotron Italiana has developed the IRtec P1300, a new IR thermometer. The company says that, in a sole instrument, this thermometer includes all the characteristics necessary to measure the temperature on the gob and in the forming mould. In the glass bottle forming process, portable infrared thermometers are used to monitor important test-points where a "continuous" measurement is not possible because the installation is very difficult or because the measurement is not used in a process regulation. The cold end is a very hard working area in glassworks. Here, the gob coming out of the spout is channelled to the mould. The typical test-points for IR temperature measurements are on the gob (about 1,100 deg C) and in the forming mould (350-400 deg C).
