Police Encourge Widespread Bans On Glass In Pubs

Despite contrary advice from a UK government report, police departments around the country are continuing to encourage all pubs to ban glass, regardless of prior incidents. The UK report entitled "National Alcohol Strategy" stated that any recommendations concerning glass bans from pubs be assessed on an individual basis, rather than a blanket approach. The Association of Chief Police Officers is insisting that a blanket ban approach would be the safer route. The Morning Advertiser, a UK pub trade paper began a petition to the Prime Minister, opposing the Association of Chief Police Officers stance on the issue.
