A new survey has revealed progress in plastic bottle recycling in the UK. More local authorities are now involved in collecting and processing plastic bottles resulting in almost 13,000 tonnes being recycled during 2000. This compares favourably with 1996 when less than 6,000 tonnes were recycled. Copies of this survey are available (£22, free to NGOs) from: RECOUP, email: enquiry@recoup.org
