Piped Light

An innovative new lighting system has been developed by the US group 3M. The company says its new Light Pipe is suitable for a wide range of installations: from street lighting, stadiums, factories and aircraft hangars to hospitals, concert halls and storage areas for explosive materials. The Light Pipe is made up of an innovative 3M prismatic optical film and a sulphur lamp without any electrode or filament. The result is a powerful, clear and steady light source, long life, low energy consumption and reduced maintenance costs.
