First Ireland Spirit have launched their award winning O'Mara's Irish Country Cream in the USA in a 1.5ltr PET bottle manufactured by Graham Packaging. Patricia Lynch at First Ireland Spirits said: "We decided to introduce the Graham bottle for a number of reasons. Firstly, the larger size (1.5ltr) represented better value for the consumer; the PET is not as heavy as the glass equivalent making it easier for the consumer to handle and use," and, "The PET bottle offers us a number of significant savings, we can fit more bottles into a container therefore reducing transport costs due to weight savings and optimising the size of customer orders, which is particularly important for our main export market, the USA." She also added: "We have also noticed some significant advantages on our production line, where having eliminated broken bottles on the line has resulted in a marked reduction in stoppages and increased efficiencies."
