[Pet] Bottle War In Milk Market!

Nampak Plastics, creator of the lightweight "Infini" bottle, has unveiled a dramatic new online film that showcases "the significant advantage held over its main rivals." These include the 2012 Alpla milk bottle. According to Nampak, the dairy industry has reached a crucial moment, in which an environmentally-friendly, next-generation bottle needs to be selected to replace the current standard. The video film warns that reduced weight and carbon emissions alone should not come at the expense of the product's overall strength, consumer experience, nor the bottles being "fit for purpose." The "Bottle Wars" film shows 25 Infini bottles and 25 of Alpla's rival being dropped from a helicopter at 300 feet. With parachutes attached (blue for Nampak, red for Alpla), the bottles hit the ground at the same speed as they would in the industry-standard 0.9m drop test - "with conclusive results." Whilst the Infini bottles remained intact and bounced on the runway, the Alpla design split and emptied milk. These results mimic the drop test performed in laboratory conditions, where Infini survives from a 1m height but Alpla's milk bottle doesn't. Eric Collins, MD of Nampak Plastic says: "This means that the latter wouldn't even survive falling from the bottom shelf of a supermarket's milk trolley, let alone the average British family's breakfast table. Put simply, its crunch time in the UK plastic milk bottle sector and we've reached our VHS-Betamax moment."
