Permanent Bar Coding On Glass

RS International Ceramic Supplies Co, a producer of high temperature bar codes, has developed a system of serialised bar codes that can be "fired" permanently onto glass substrates, making them scratch, chemical and heat resistant. A glass ceramic ink system, coupled with the serialisation of the bar code, creates a waterslide decal for application directly onto the glass item. Bar Codes can be serialised to customer requirements and integrated into their existing IT system. Already being used in the production of sanitary ware, where the firing temperature is more than 1200 deg C, the codes can yield valuable information on product tracking and operative performance.
