Pelliconi Develops A Crown With Reduced Metal Thickness

Market maturity has been achieved for a new variant of the traditional crown - with a new sheet-metal quality; the company has succeeded in significantly downsizing the metal thickness involved, and tapping into fresh options for economising on valuable resources. Under the name of "Smart Crown" numerous trials have been run over the past 18 months in the firm's own central laboratory and also on fillers and crowners all over Europe, so as to test this innovative variant under realistic filling conditions. The "Smart Crown" achieves comparable values when filling carbonated products to the standard variant in terms of the requisite technical parameters. Internal pressure values, side-impact characteristics and gas retention performance meet the relevant specifications, even under actual filling conditions.
