Packaging Preferences Ignored By Major Players?

It would appear that the beverage industry is ignoring the preferences of global consumption in favour of playing "follow the leader" in terms of producing packaging solutions, often at the expense of glass. For example, consumers around the world overwhelmingly prefer foods and beverages in glass to other packaging materials, but new research suggests consumers struggle to find their favourite brands packaged in glass on store shelves. In a global research study conducted by Siegel+Gale, one of the world's premier strategic branding companies, nearly 3000 consumers in 9 countries were polled about their preferences regarding food and beverage packaging. This article closely examines the results and concludes that as the pressure and momentum to use PET continues to rise, glass container manufacturers must act now to up the ante.
