Packaging Market - Glass Preferred For Cosmetics

According to a survey conducted in France, the majority of women prefer glass for cosmetics packaging. However, the positive image of this material, still associated with prestigious names in the industry, has not yet been reflected in sales. The main fact emerging from the survey, ordered by the French Employers' Federation of Mechanical Glassmakers and carried out by IPSOS, is that women prefer glass for its aesthetic value. However, the figures show that plastic still dominates the cosmetics packaging sector. Glass takes its biggest share of the market in 30 and 50ml (and to some extent, 200ml) jars and bottles in high-range products. Nevertheless, glass can also be seen on the supermarket shelves, mainly as containers for face-care products or for very specific formulas.
