Oxy-Fuel Furnace For Ardagh Netherlands

Ardagh Glass has expanded production at Moerdijk, the Netherlands, with the recent commissioning of an oxy-fuel furnace that exclusively produces green glass. Called "Wilma," the 330/tpd melter was built alongside an existing oxy-fuel installation... called "Fred." Germany's Horn Glass Industries AG executed complete engineering work for the refractories and steel structure and carried out the installation. The oxygen and gas stations required for furnace heating were supplied, along with bubbling equipment. In addition, Horn completely reconstructed "Fred" - "Wilma's" partner furnace, again executing complete furnace engineering for the refractories and steel structure. Demolition, reconstruction and heat-up were performed under Horn's supervision.
