USA-based engineering contractor, Henry F Teichmann Inc, is reported to be making history in China's flat glass industry. Under the terms of PPG licensing agreements, HFT has been designing and building three oxy-fuel 600/tpd float glass production lines and two CVD online low-E coating systems for customers in China These lines are the first in the country to take advantage of the latest technologies developed by PPG and HFT, which have proved successful at operational PPG plants for almost 12 years. PPG ha also been operating the CVD since the 1990s. Oxy-fuel float glass furnaces are best known for reducing NOx and CO2, reducing fuel consumption, improving glass quality and yields, facilitating process stability and lowering maintenance costs. The first of these oxy-fuel float lines was to be commissioned in Hainan this summer by AVIC (Hainan) Special Glass Materials Co Ltd. The same company commissioned its first CVD, last spring and expects to commission the second unit later this year. The other two oxy-fuel float lines are owned by Beijing Jinjing Wisdom Solar Materials Co Ltd in Daxing, Beijing. Jinjing expects to commission one line in late 2012 and the other in 2013.
