Owens-Illinois Reports Increased Earnings For Second Quarter

US-based Owens-Illinois Inc, has increased its earnings in both the second quarter and first six months of 1996. Second quarter net earnings rose to US$66.6m, or US$0.55 per share, compared with US$59.0m or 49 cents per share, for the second quarter of 1995, an increase of more than 12%. For the first half of 1996, net earnings rose 15% to US$106.2m or 88 cents per share, compared with US $92.3m or 77 cents per share for the first half of 1995.
